Where can you take part in this opportunity?

LILAC is a brand new 3 year project for which A National Voice has received funding from the National Lottery BIG Young Persons Fund. LILAC focuses on participation and making sure looked-afer young people are involved in decisions relating to both their individual care and the policies and practices of the service that looks after them. It's about empowering care-experienced young people to train people who work directly with children or young people in care and to assess how well services listen to and involve children and young people in care.

We will recruit, train an dsupport a pool of care-experienced young people who will be able to deliver training and consultancy to professionals working with children in care around various aspects of participation. They will also work with and train other young people around getting involved with influencing decision-makers, policy and procedure. Finally, they will work as LILAS assessors to complete LILAC assessments of local authorities and private or voluntary sector-run services for children in care.
